About
Thanks to the KDE framework it is possible to create those screenshots "on the fly" while you are working without much overhead. The image scaling is done through the high performance image library Imlib2. Since version 0.5 support for the Composite and Damage extensions has been added, which allows us to display window contents without grabbing screenshots. However with the current state of graphics drivers XOrg may be awfully slow (or even crash sometimes) when enabling the Composite extension. So blame me for your bad gfx drivers :) Requirements
Komposé needs at least Qt 3.2 and KDE 3.2. Furthermore Imlib2 is required for image operations, make sure it's compiled with mmx and sse support for faster scaling. The overall performance of Komposé depends heavily on your CPU. On my 2.4GHz machine I don't notice any delay when it shows up, delay may however occur on slower CPUs. Informations
There are some sources of information (sadly distributed over different places as I didn't want to create a full featured website which would cover everything):
Download
Download the Komposé source tarball from the BerliOS project page. You will also find user submitted packages different distributions. Only the source package is maintained by me, so don't bug me on package problems. The lucky Gentoo users can just do a "emerge kompose" :). Thanks to..
Many people have helped me out when it comes to creating packages, icons, writing translations, submitting bugfixes or comments on how Komposé could be improved. As I cannot name them all I just want to thank everyone who has contributed to Komposé in any way.
Thanks also to the KDE, KDevelop and Imlib2 teams for their work and making this app possible.
